Why is it that when Palin says something like Paul Revere warned the British, or Glenn Beck says God’s trying to tell us something with the hurricane, it becomes a top news national story – the pundits make their comments and people at their water coolers laugh about how extreme the “far right” has become. People like Steven Colbert and John Stewart give us all a good laugh. We’re taught not to even take them seriously. They use those people to dismiss every true american ideal this country was founded on. Yet when a true piece of shit like Paul Krugman says something like this, you hear nothing but crickets.
To me, there is nothing that sums up the word “unamerican” like the national Click-it or Ticket campaign. I’m sure you unamericans out there are reading this and thinking, “oh, here he goes again, now he has a problem with people wearing seat belts?”
Let’s say you’re at a bar, you get really drunk, you start to buy all your friends drinks, then you start to buy people you don’t even know drinks, before you know it, the whole bar loves you, when you speak, everyone listens – that poor guy that can’t afford a shot? you buy him 2, what a wonderful person you are. You’re sort of like the curly-haired guy in those Heineken commercials. But with all the excitement in the crowd, you forget that the bartender is actually keeping your tab, which turns out to be well over 10k.
